Gurugram Civic Body Fines Two Societies for Waste Rule Violations

MCG sanitation teams imposed penalties on two residential societies located on Golf Course Road Extension for failing to adhere to Solid Waste Management (SWM) regulations designed for bulk waste generators (BWGs). One society was fined Rs 25,000, while the other received a fine of Rs 10,000.

Sanitary inspector Bhupendra Kumar reported that both societies were in breach of SWM regulations. He explained that they had not been composting or processing their wet waste, and their dry waste was not being sent for recycling. There was no processing unit established on their premises for wet waste, and they had not authorized any agency for waste processing and recycling. Kumar emphasized that these actions were in violation of SWM rules. He had led the team that inspected these waste generation sites.
