Deluxe Recycling opens a new plant in Gujarat
In 2023, India will produce 9.4 million tonnes of plastic garbage a year, of which only half will be collected, according to a World Economic Forum estimate. MLP trash is a major source of pollution in plastic packaging since it is usually seen as having little value and is exceedingly difficult to recycle. If it is gathered at all, cement factories often use it for co-processing, incineration, or fuel. Deluxe has worked with and compensated a network of aggregators and small material recovery facilities (MRF) to collect and segregate MLP trash, creating a scalable ecosystem for the collection of MLP. The firm then manufactures a range of heavy, stiff items that are in great demand using unique technology that was created internally. Currently, 90% of the recycled seatboards used in the automotive industry are recycled, which means nearly every rickshaw driver sits on one of its recycled seats.
The venture's growth was fueled by funding from Circulate Capital, a well-known circular economy investment business. This resulted in increased capacity and the creation of over 150 jobs in Gujarat.
