Belagavi Launches Environmental Study for Smart Waste Management
The study will analyze municipal solid waste (MSW) from households, commercial areas, and institutions, identifying organic, recyclable, hazardous, and debris waste. Findings will shape integrated waste management strategies aligned with India’s COP26 climate commitments.
Belagavi City Corporation, overseeing civic infrastructure and sanitation, will play a key role in this initiative. Backed by the French Development Agency (AFD), KfW Development Bank, and the European Union, CITIIS 2.0 aims to promote evidence-based solutions for cleaner cities.
With a projected population of 712,000 and 228,000 households in 2025, Belagavi’s urban expansion necessitates efficient waste solutions. The RFQ signals a crucial step toward a greener, more sustainable future.
