Logistics firm WCIL secures Rs 41-cr contract from TSSIJ

Western Carriers (India) Ltd (WCIL), a leading logistics company, announced on Friday that it has won a Rs 41-crore contract from Tata Steel Sponge Iron Joda (TSSIJ) in Odisha. Following its recent IPO of Rs 492 crore, WCIL has been appointed as the sole supply chain partner for in-plant logistics and container rake transportation at the TSSIJ plant for a duration of three years.

The contract includes comprehensive handling support and container rake transportation for both loose and bagged direct reduced iron (DRI/sponge iron).

"This order represents a crucial partnership for our company, reinforcing our position as a trusted player in the third-party and fourth-party logistics space," said Rajendra Sethia, chairman and managing director of WCIL. He highlighted how the contract aligns with WCIL's strategy to leverage rail transport for efficient and sustainable logistics solutions.

WCIL provides a broad spectrum of end-to-end logistics services, facilitating the movement of goods through various modes of transport, including road, rail, and sea/river.
