India and South Korea Forge Strategic Alliance to Boost Logistics

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the Korea Transport Institute (KoTI) formalised a strategic partnership to strengthen logistics infrastructure under PM GatiShakti. The MoU was signed on February 10 at the Sejong National Research Complex in South Korea, with Youngchan Kim, President of KoTI, and Amit Kumar, India’s Ambassador to South Korea, marking a new chapter in bilateral cooperation. 

Key Objectives & Strategic Importance 
  • Knowledge Sharing & Institutional Cooperation: Establishing a robust framework for cross-learning between DPIIT’s Logistics Division and KoTI. 
  • Infrastructure Master Planning: Supporting the development of comprehensive logistics and infrastructure strategies under PM GatiShakti. 
  • Technology & Innovation: Leveraging KoTI’s expertise in GIS-based planning, multimodal connectivity, and smart logistics solutions. 
Elevating India’s Global Infrastructure Leadership 
This strategic alliance marks a major milestone in bilateral ties, reinforcing India’s commitment to logistics modernisation and infrastructure innovation. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry hailed the initiative as a step towards positioning India as a global leader in smart logistics and sustainable infrastructure development.
