DPIIT: 13 States and UTs Recognised as 'Achievers' in Logistics

According to a recent report from the Commerce and Industry Ministry, 13 states and Union Territories (UTs) have been recognised as "achievers" in the 2024 Logistics Performance Index. This index measures the efficiency of logistics services crucial for boosting exports and economic growth. The states and UTs categorised as "achievers" include Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh. 

The report also highlights that several states have improved their rankings from last year. Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttarakhand, and Arunachal Pradesh have moved up from the 'Fast Movers' and 'Aspirers' categories in 2023 to the 'Achievers' category in 2024. 

In contrast, some states have seen a drop in their performance rankings. Punjab, which was in the top category last year, has slipped to the "Fast Movers" category in 2024. Similarly, Andhra Pradesh has dropped from "Achievers" to "Fast Movers." 

Other states and UTs like Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry have been categorised as "Fast Movers." The "Aspirers" category includes Kerala, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Ladakh.
