Mayor Opens Jeppu Enclave Built Under Smart City Mission
The enclave aims to enhance urban amenities and improve public services in the region. The newly developed bus bay is expected to serve as a hub for city buses operating to and from Mangaladevi Temple. Currently, buses operate from the temple entrance, contributing to congestion. Plans are in place to coordinate with city police, the Regional Transport Office (RTO), and bus operators to streamline transportation and ease traffic flow in front of the temple.
The upgraded PHC will soon commence operations from the new facility, improving healthcare access for local residents. In collaboration with Father Muller Medical College (FMMC), maternity services are set to resume within 15 days. Additionally, through a partnership with the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Srinivas University will introduce physiotherapy and dental treatment services within the next 10 days. The 1,200-square-meter facility includes sections for allopathy, homeopathy, physiotherapy, a dental clinic, a laboratory, an emergency ward, consultation rooms, a pharmacy, and maternity services.
A newly established veterinary hospital, covering 240 square meters, features an operation theatre, a pharmacy, treatment sections for domestic animals, a cattle care unit, and a consultation room. Residential amenities for municipal staff have also been enhanced with the addition of eight two-bedroom flats, with plans to construct 12 more flats in the area.
To improve urban mobility, a 110-meter-long and 11-meter-wide bus bay has been constructed to facilitate smoother transit operations and reduce congestion.
The project is expected to provide essential healthcare, veterinary, residential, and transit services, significantly contributing to urban development and the overall quality of life in Mangaluru.
