Bhubaneswar to Launch Virtual Inventory of Infrastructure Assets

Bhubaneswar is set to introduce a virtual inventory system to manage its infrastructure assets more effectively. The Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) has taken the initiative to develop this database, aiming to streamline the maintenance and monitoring of key infrastructure in the city.

This digital inventory will house comprehensive information on various infrastructure assets such as roads, street lights, drains, and water supply networks. The virtual system will allow authorities to track the condition of these assets, enabling timely repairs and ensuring that the city's infrastructure is well-maintained.

The project is part of the city's broader efforts under the Smart City mission to enhance governance and improve urban services. It also ties into the goal of utilising technology to create a more sustainable and efficient urban environment.

Officials believe that the virtual inventory will also assist in better resource allocation, reducing costs related to asset maintenance. This move will lead to more informed decision-making, ultimately benefiting residents through improved infrastructure services.
