Kandla Port to expand by 2030

The Deendayal Port Authority has outlined plans to expand Kandla Port’s capacity to 390 million tonne per annum (MTPA) by 2030. This ambitious goal is part of a larger initiative to modernise India’s port infrastructure and increase handling capacity, catering to the growing demand for goods and cargo. The expansion will include the construction of new berths, the modernisation of existing facilities, and the introduction of advanced technologies to improve cargo handling efficiency. With its strategic location on the western coast, Kandla Port plays a vital role in facilitating trade, especially with countries in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. This capacity increase will enable Kandla Port to accommodate a larger volume of cargo.
