Titagarh Delivers India’s First Driverless Trainset for Bengaluru Metro Yellow Line

Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. has delivered its first driverless, Made-in-India trainset to Bengaluru Metro’s Yellow Line. The stainless steel, automated trainset will operate on the key 18-km stretch connecting Electronics City with the rest of Bengaluru.

The handover marks a major milestone in India’s growing capabilities in railway manufacturing. Attended virtually by Shri Manohar Lal, Hon’ble Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, the event highlights the role of Titagarh’s Uttarpara facility in producing world-class trains.

Designed for driverless (GOA4) operation, the trainset incorporates advanced automation and sustainability features. Titagarh plans to deliver two more trainsets by April 2025, ramping up production to two trains per month by September 2025.
