Thane Ring Metro Project requests approval from the Central Government

Shinde met with Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri during his visit to Delhi on Friday, according to a PTI report. Shinde made a formal request for clearance of the ongoing Thane ring metro project during this meeting.
Projected Thane Ring Metro's specifics
The Thane ring metro project was described as having a 29-kilometer route in a statement made by the district government. The Central government has been asked to approve this project.
The proposed project calls for the construction of 22 stations along the path of the Thane ring metro, which will be elevated for 26 kilometres of its length and underground for the final 3 km.
Incorporating the railway station
The announcement further notes that while the other stations would be connected to the larger metro corridor, one of the subterranean metro stations will be seamlessly connected to Thane railway station, improving connectivity.
