The Kanpur Metro Project has reached another milestone as Kalpataru Projects International Ltd. (KPIL) – Gulermak JV deployed its third Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) ""Parvati"" at Rawatpur Station for Line 2. This 8.38 km corridor stretches from Agriculture University to Barra-8.

TBM Type: Herrenknecht Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) Machine (Refurbished, Ø6.5m)

 7th TBM commissioned for Kanpur Metro Phase 1

 3rd TBM for Package KNPCC-11, following TBMs Gomati (S-1408A) and Saraswati (S-839C)

 First Task: Construct a 750m tunnel for the upline from Rawatpur to Kakadeo

 Second Task: Dragged towards Kakadeo Station box, constructing a 700m tunnel to Double Pullia

Contractor: KPIL – Gulermak JV

Awarded: December 2023

Contract Value: Rs 7.62 billion

Deadline: 30 months

This package involves the twin tunnels for Line 2's 4.08 km underground section, along with the construction of three underground stations:

 Rawatpur

 Kakadeo

 Double Pullia

CMRS Inspection recently conducted for Kanpur Metro Line 1 between Moti Jheel and Kanpur Central Station, paving the way for passenger operations.
