Tanzania Railways Corp unveils $ 5.6 billion railway project

The Tanzania Railways Corporation revealed its intention to construct a 1000km railway in the southern region of the country, connecting Lake Nyasa to the Indian Ocean. According to a report from Business News Africa, the railway is intended to support the local operations of Dangote Cement and various businesses in other industries. The estimated cost of the project is $ 5.6 billion, and as per reports, the Tanzania Railways Corporation has already obtained potential private investments amounting to $ 2.2 billion.
