The Rajasthan government has allotted Rs 1,185 crore to construct a 4.85 km extension of the Mansarovar-Badi Chaupar metro corridor on both ends.
The East-West Metro Corridor shall be extended from Badi Chaupar to the Transport Nagar by the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC).
There are plans to build an elevated stretch of two km from Mansarovar station to Bypass Junction of 200 feet on the Ajmer Road to provide Metro connectivity to the Bypass Junction.
Upon completion, the existing 12 km East-West Corridor between Mansarovar and Badi Chaupar will e extended to an extent of approximately 17 km.
The Corporation had earlier published a detailed project report (DPR) on Phase-1C between Badi Chaupar and Transport Nagar for seeking public input. As per the DPR, if the same is completed by March 2025, the anticipated cost of the project with land costs and taxes will be Rs 866 crore.
In the allotted budget, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced plans to connect the satellite towns which include Bassi, Bagru, Chandwaji, Phagi, Chaksu, Chomu, with Metro Neo after the preparation of project detail project report (DPR).
Despite the Chief Minister’s pledge to amend the detailed project report (DPR) of the project, the state government has not made any allocations for the much-awaited 23.5 km Jaipur Metro Phase-II, proposed to be built from India Gate to Ambabari on the Tonk Road.
