Rameswaram railway station will have airport-style infrastructure: SR
Sabari Constructions - URC Constructions joint venture received the engineering, procurement, and construction contract with a cost of INR 90.20 crore and an 18-month completion window. The duty of providing project management services is being assigned to TUV India Private Limited, Mumbai, at a cost of $4.41 crore. The PMS consultant is in charge of overseeing and carrying out the project. The two terminal buildings will be constructed on the eastern and northern sides, according to railway officials. The terminals' architecture will be a modern interpretation of the Rameswaram temple's traditional design.
The proposed east terminal building is envisioned as a two-story structure with a built-up size of 7,158 sq mtr. For future needs, the foundation will be built as a G+6 construction. The northern terminal, which will be a one-storey building, will only house administrative offices and other departments. To fit the design and atmosphere of the new station buildings, the old platforms will receive a comprehensive makeover. Additionally, it is anticipated that dedicated parking spaces, an RPF block, a new substation building with restrooms, staff quarters, and a new parcel office with a separate entrance for passengers would be built.
