Rajasthan to Form Centre-State Joint Venture for Metro Rail Projects

In a major move to boost metro rail infrastructure, the Rajasthan government has announced the formation of a joint venture company between the Central and state governments to oversee metro projects in the state. This entity will manage both ongoing and new metro projects, including the Jaipur Metro phases and other proposals in cities across Rajasthan.

The new venture will assume responsibility for construction, installation, operations, and maintenance, while the Jaipur Metro's first two phases will remain under the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC).

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma revealed that a steering committee, chaired by the Chief Secretary, has been established to prepare the formalities and procedures required for the joint venture's formation. Once established, the new entity will streamline metro rail development across the state.
