RailTel Bags Major Contract from North Frontier Railway

RailTel Corporation of India, a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), has secured a significant order from North Frontier Railway. The project involves the provision of a comprehensive Video Surveillance System across 340 stations, classified under D and E categories, within the railway zone. This domestic contract is valued at Rs 0.49 billion inclusive of taxes.

The project, which is expected to be completed by May 5, 2026, underscores RailTel's commitment to enhancing security infrastructure at railway stations. According to the disclosure submitted to the National Stock Exchange and BSE Limited, this work order was officially received on February 5, 2025, at 18:10 hours. The contract is categorised as a "works" order, and RailTel has clarified that neither the company’s promoter group nor any related parties have a direct interest in the awarding entity.

RailTel emphasised that this milestone reflects its growing portfolio in deploying advanced surveillance technologies aimed at improving passenger safety and operational efficiency. The disclosure also included details as mandated by SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, ensuring compliance and transparency.

The announcement was made by Jasmeet Singh Marwah, the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, who confirmed the approval of the disclosure by the company’s senior executive team. RailTel remains a key player in railway modernization projects, particularly in areas involving digital infrastructure and security systems.
