Rahee Infratech emerges as lowest bidder for Kolkata metro line-6

Rahee Infratech Ltd was the lowest bidder for an elevated portion of Kolkata Metro's line-6 for developing double line ballast track of 29.87 km length, joining New Garia with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airports with 24 stations on the route.

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) floated a tender in February this year for this work with an estimated cost of Rs 130.48 crore and 24 months of the completion period. Scope of work includes building of double line ballastless track (BLT) for elevated viaduct portion between Nicco Park to Titumir along with points and crossings, among others. In alliance with the development of the metro railway corridor from New Garia to Airport Corridor, Kolkata.

The technical bids were opened in the month of April, in which names of seven bidders had emerged. The bid requirements of the remaining two technically qualified bidders included Texmaco Rail and Engineering Ltd at Rs 132.45 crore and Rahee Infratech Ltd at Rs 122.59 crore.

Rahee Infratech must receive the Letter of Acceptance (LOA) in the upcoming weeks from RVNL, as the bid requirement quoted by the company is below RVNL's estimates. The work includes building a double line ballastless track above an elevated viaduct for a length of approximately 12.87 km.

Currently, this section with eleven stations is under construction, for which work is awarded in two packages—Package ANS3 from Sub CBD-1 to Titumir to ITD Cementation India Ltd and Package ANV3 from Nicco Park to Sub CBD-1 to Afcons Infrastructure Ltd.
