Pune Approves Two New Metro Corridors and Station Upgrade

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved two new metro corridors: one linking Hadapsar to Loni Kalbhor and the other from Hadapsar to Saswad Road. Both will be elevated, and construction will be overseen by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).

In addition to the new corridors, the PMC has approved a new metro station on the Swargate to Katraj underground line. Although there are currently four stations on this route, residents and local representatives requested an additional stop between Padmavati and Katraj. Bhosale confirmed the approval of a station at Balajinagar, to be constructed by Maha-Metro.

Regarding funding, Bhosale clarified that Maha-Metro would cover the cost of the new station. While land for Balajinagar is not yet available, the station is likely to be located near the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station, just before Bharati Vidyapeeth.
