Prime Minister Launches Mumbai Metro Line Three Inauguration
In a significant effort to enhance urban mobility in the region, the Prime Minister inaugurated the BKC to Aarey JVLR section of Mumbai Metro Line 3, which costs approximately Rs 141.20 billion. This section will feature 10 stations, with 9 of them being underground.
Mumbai Metro Line 3 is a crucial public transport initiative aimed at improving commuting between Mumbai city and its suburbs. Once fully operational, the line is expected to serve around 12 lakh passengers daily.
The Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 122 billion, covering a total length of 29 km with 20 elevated and 2 underground stations. This ambitious infrastructure initiative is intended to address the increasing transportation demands of Thane, a significant industrial and commercial hub in Maharashtra.
The Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane will facilitate seamless connectivity between south Mumbai and Thane.
The NAINA project, which costs around Rs 25.50 billion, includes the construction of major arterial roads, bridges, flyovers, underpasses, and integrated utility infrastructure.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Thane Municipal Corporation, which is to be constructed at an approximate cost of Rs 7 billion.
