PM Modi Lays Foundation Stone for Rayagada Railway Division Building

Charan Majhi Mohan, Chief Minister, Odisha and Ravneet Singh, Minister of State for Railways, participated in a meeting held in Rayagada, while Kambhampati Hari Babu, Governor, Odisha, joined the event virtually from Bhubaneswar. During the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after laying the foundation stone, remarked that the Rayagada Railway Division would enhance railway connectivity in Odisha, particularly in the southern region, which is home to a significant tribal population. He added that the railway division would contribute to the growth of tourism, trade, and employment in the area.

In a post on X, Modi mentioned that the launch of railway infrastructure projects in Jammu-Kashmir, Telangana, and Odisha would foster tourism and contribute to the socio-economic development of these regions.

The Rs 1.07 billion project aims to improve railway infrastructure and provide substantial benefits to the area. The Rayagada Railway Division building will include various key facilities to ensure efficient and sustainable train operations. These include the divisional headquarters in Rayagada, a modern DRM office building spanning a total plinth area of 12,000 square metres, and a divisional control office to oversee and manage railway operations effectively.
