Mumbai's Metro 3 Update: second phase sees 86 % completion
The spokesperson stated that the MMRC has already conducted an inspection of this metro line with the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) team. The spokesperson added that the next step involves an inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS), and once the CMRS certificate is obtained, passenger services can commence for the first phase.
Simultaneously, the spokesperson said that the second phase of the metro line has also accelerated. The spokesperson revealed that overall, 92.2% of both phases have been completed, with civil works reaching 99.3% completion.
However, the spokesperson acknowledged that there has been a delay in the security check. The spokesperson explained that although the MMRC initially announced that the first phase of Metro 3, from Aarey to BKC, would be operational by May, the security check has caused delays. Consequently, the spokesperson said that Mumbaikars will have to wait a bit longer for this route to begin operations.
