MPMRCL invites tender for Bhopal metro underground construction

Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MPMRCL) requested bids for the civil construction of the 3.39 km underground tunnels and stations of the Bhopal Metro Purple Line.

Through two subterranean stations at Bhopal Junction Station and Nadra Bus Stand, underground package BH-04 will connect a ramp south of Sindhi Colony Station with a ramp west of Aish Bagh Crossing Station.

This is the first and only subterranean package in Bhopal Metro Phase 1's 27.87 kilometer length. This is the Purple Line's fourth and final civil package to enter the bidding stage, following packages BH-01 (AIIMS to Subhash Nagar), BH-06 (Subhash Nagar Depot), and BH-03 (Subhash Nagar - Aish Bagh Ramp and Sindhi Colony Ramp to Karond Circle, which are currently in the bidding stage).

The brief scope of work consists of designing and building twin tunnel cut cover cross passageways with or without sump ramps for two UG stations, as well as architectural finishing. Water Supply, Sanitary Installation, and Drainage Work for Bhopal Metro in the entire UG from CH 28375 to 31765

The European Investment Bank (EIB) will fund this contract with a €400 million (approx. Rs. 3584 crore) loan signed in December 2019.
