MPMRCL invites global tenders for Bhopal Metro Rail Project

The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MPMRCL) has invited online global e-tenders for the construction of eight elevated metro rail stations for the Bhopal Metro Rail Project.

The estimated cost of the project is about Rs 421 crore and the completion period is 847 days from the start of work. Phase-1 of Bhopal Metro comprises the construction of two corridors having 28 stations with a total length of 27.87 km.

Scope of work includes design and construction of eight elevated metro rail stations, including viaduct portion within the stations and transition spans on either side of the stations—AIIMS, Alkapuri, Habibganj Naka, Habibganj, M.P Nagar Zone-1, DB City Mall, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and Subhash Nagar—for Bhopal Metro Rail Project.

MPMRCL had applied for loans from the European Investment Bank (EIB). EIB has agreed to fund around Rs 3,430 crore for Phase-1 of the project.

Dilip Buildcon Ltd is carrying out the construction of 6.22 km viaducts from AIIMS to Subhas Nagar. For this, a work order worth Rs 247.06 crore was issued to the firm in October 2018 by MPMRCL.
