Indore Metro Inches Closer to Launch After CMRS Inspection

The Indore Metro Rail Project has moved a step closer to commercial operations following a two-day inspection by Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS), Janak Kumar Garg, which concluded on 25 March.
With the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) now awaiting the final approval from CMRS, the much-anticipated metro service is expected to launch soon.
Key Highlights of the Inspection
Corridor Under Review: The 5.90 km super-priority corridor between Gandhi Nagar station and Station 3 of the Super Corridor was inspected.
Comprehensive Safety Checks: CMRS officials evaluated construction quality, signaling systems, telecom infrastructure, braking mechanisms, train speed, and power supply to ensure adherence to safety standards.
Launch Timeline and Delays
Originally scheduled for a late 2024 launch, commercial operations were later pushed to March 2025. With the inspection now complete, MPMRCL officials are hopeful for a positive outcome.
However, the final CMRS report—which will determine the official commencement date—is expected in the coming weeks"
