Deutsche Bahn India appoints Kumar Keshav as CEO

Deutsche Bahn Engineering & Consulting India has appointed Kumar Keshav as Chief Executive Officer, to be based in New Delhi. Deutsche Bahn (DB) is a German Company with expertise in operation and maintenance of railway projects in different countries. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) recently signed an agreement with DB India to operate and maintain the 82-km Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System corridor for 12 years.

The rail-based transit systems in India are usually being operated by public entities as in the case of various Delhi Metro, Lucknow Metro, etc. There has been limited participation by the private sector in this sector till now in the country, a company statement said.

DB India is a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG, the national railway company of Germany. Kumar Keshav has considerable experience of implementing the Lucknow and Kanpur metros in record time. He will now lead the DB team in India for efficient and cost-effective operation and maintenance of India’s first RRTS corridor from Delhi to Meerut.
