Delhi Metro's Blue Line achieves carbon neutral certification
This certification comes after DMRC previously attained carbon-neutral status for its corporate headquarters at Metro Bhawan and staff quarters in Sector-50, Noida.
In line with the government's objective to achieve net zero emissions by 2070, DMRC is making significant progress towards carbon neutrality through the integration of advanced environmental practices, according to officials.
The DMRC has successfully minimized its carbon emissions by implementing a range of sustainable initiatives, including energy-efficient technologies like regenerative braking in its trains, increasing the use of renewable energy in operations, constructing rainwater harvesting systems, and establishing efficient waste management processes.
DMRC's commitment goes beyond mere certification; it aims to serve as a model for other urban transportation systems, encouraging them to adopt similar sustainable practices and setting a benchmark for eco-friendly operations.
