Cyclosystem Wins Bengaluru Metro Train Wash Plant Contract

Cyclosystem India Pvt Ltd has secured the contract to supply automatic train wash plants for three depots under Bengaluru Metro Phase 2. The company emerged as the sole qualified bidder, winning the contract with a Rs 103 million bid.

Project Scope The automatic train wash plants will be installed at:

Kothanur Depot

Baiyyappanahalli Depot

Airport Depot

The appointed contractor will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the fully automated train washing plants. The contract also includes:

Supply of tools, software, and manuals

Training personnel

Providing spare parts and consumables

Maintenance support during the three-year Defect Liability Period (DLP)

Bidding Process Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) floated the tender, and four firms participated in the bidding process. However, three firms were disqualified during the technical evaluation.

Bengaluru Metro Phase 2 Expansion The Bengaluru Metro Phase 2 project spans 73.92 km and includes two new corridors—Yellow Line and Pink Line—along with extensions of the existing Green Line and Purple Line. The Karnataka government approved the project in 2011, followed by Central Government approval in 2014.

As part of the expansion, BMRCL is upgrading infrastructure, including advanced depot facilities, to enhance metro operations and maintenance efficiency.
