CG Power and Industrial Solutions, a Mumbai-based engineering conglomerate, has received a substantial order from Kinet Railway Solutions for the supply and servicing of railway products. The contract includes propulsion kits with motors, transformers, and other essential components for the production of 10 Vande Bharat trainsets.

The initial purchase order for these railway products is valued between Rs 4 billion to Rs 4.50 billion. Additionally, the company has entered into a 35-year service agreement as part of the long-term supply contract, reinforcing its commitment to providing continued support for railway operations.

With a history spanning over 86 years in the railway sector, CG Power has established itself as a key player in railway propulsion systems, traction machines, signalling products, and other critical components. The company has also expanded into the Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) or KAVACH domain, enhancing safety solutions for railway networks.

Since becoming a part of the Murugappa Group in November 2020, CG Power has diversified its operations across various sectors, including agriculture, engineering, and financial services. The company operates 18 manufacturing plants in India and Sweden, producing a wide range of industrial and power sector equipment.

Employing around 3,113 personnel, CG Power reported consolidated revenues of Rs 80.46 billion in FY24. Its on-going projects and strategic investments highlight its role in advancing India’s railway infrastructure and strengthening its position in the global engineering sector.
