Agra Metro's TBM re-launched for Taj Mahal Station, marking a new milestone

The Agra Metro Rail Project has achieved another significant milestone with the relaunch of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Yamuna from Agra Fort Metro Station. It was reported that the TBM successfully broke through at the station on April 25, 2023. Now, the TBM is heading towards the Taj Mahal station to resume its tunnelling work.

The construction of the underground section for the priority corridor of the Agra Metro Rail Project is progressing rapidly, ensuring that the project stays on schedule.

Alongside TBM Yamuna, another TBM called Ganga is also involved in tunnelling work for a different line. Ganga has already completed more than 100 metres of the tunnel, highlighting the project's efficiency.

The civil works for the underground stations are advancing smoothly and are at an advanced stage. Additionally, there are plans to expedite the tunnel construction process by constructing the mid shaft at Shahjahan Garden. The Agra Metro Rail Project's latest achievement signifies its continuous remarkable progress, promising enhanced connectivity and transportation options for both residents and tourists in the city.
