PNC Infratech sole DBFOT bidder for Haridwar personal rapid transit

Construction engineering company PNC Infratech Ltd has emerged as the only bidder for the development of Personalised Rapid Transit (PRT) system in Haridwar for the PRT tender released by the Uttarakhand Metro Rail Corporation (UKMRC).

UKMRC had invited online expressions of interest cum request for qualification (EoIs-cum-RFQs) in November 2020 to shortlist private entities to bid as concessionaire for the development of Personalised Rapid Transit (PRT) System in Haridwar city of Uttarakhand called Haridwar Darshan, on public-private partnership model under design, build, finance, operate, and transfer (DBFOT) basis. The deadline was in January 2021.

However, only one EoI has been received, and it is unclear whether the authority will re-invite tenders.

The PRT project obtained approval from the Uttarakhand government in June 2020.

The PRT corridors are mainly on the city's major roads and are planned to be elevated within the right of way (RoW) on the central verge of the roads.

The proposed PRT corridor will span a total length of 19.65 km and has the following stretches:

Sitapur–Bharat Mata Temple: 14 km
City Hospital–Daksha Temple: 3 km
Ganeshpuram–DAV School: 2 km
Valmiki Chowk–Laltaro Bridge: 0.65 km
