The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has invited expressions of interest (EoI) for the establishment of the National Metro Rail Knowledge Centre (NMRKC) near the Vishwavidyalaya metro station at an estimated cost of Rs 46.36 crore.

The NMRKC building will be constructed on a plot identified near the Vishwavidyalaya metro station in north Delhi. Construction will be carried out as per the specifications of the DMRC.

Bid winners will construct the NMRKC building and handover to DMRC for the operations of the knowledge centre.

According to the EoI notice, NMRKC will showcase the growth and development of metro railways in India and will act as a hub for knowledge of metro technology.

The centre will exhibit materials and displays chronicling the evolution of the metro rail in India and will also have provisions for audiovisual screening of films and documentaries, research work with the help of books and other archival publications about the metro.

The knowledge centre will help in communicating the challenges involved in constructing and operating the metro and archiving important landmarks related to metro construction in India to the public.
