YEIDA Plans Enhanced Connectivity for Noida Airport

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is exploring improved connectivity between the Noida International Airport in Jewar and National Highway 34 (NH-34), which passes through Sikandrabad in Bulandshahr.

In collaboration with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), YEIDA is identifying potential alignments for a new route to address challenges caused by land acquisition for the airport. This development disrupted direct access from Jewar to Sikandrabad via the existing Jewar-Sikandrabad road, necessitating an alternative route through Jahangirpur and Jhajhar.

Among the proposals is a new link road from the airport to Khurja, where NH-34 runs. The final alignment will depend on a feasibility study and a detailed project report (DPR). The initiative aims to enhance airport accessibility for nearby districts and strengthen connections to key cities like Haridwar, Meerut, and Bulandshahr.

Additionally, the government is advancing projects such as a 31 km stretch linking the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to the airport and an expressway connecting the Ganga Expressway with the airport. These efforts are expected to establish a robust transportation network, fostering smoother travel and boosting regional growth.
