UPSRTC to Promote Road Safety Awareness at Maha Kumbh

With an expected turnout of over 40 crore devotees at Maha Kumbh 2025, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) will set up a stall at the mela venue to promote road safety awareness.

Uttar Pradesh reports the highest number of road fatalities annually, averaging 22,000 deaths. To address this, the state government is focusing on public awareness campaigns to reduce road accidents.

Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh has directed the use of publicity vans equipped with LED screens to spread road safety messages along routes leading to the mela site. At the UPSRTC stall, audio-visual films and jingles will educate visitors about road safety dos and don'ts.

Road safety messages will also be displayed at key locations, including temporary bus stations established for the mela. Vehicles on routes to the mela site will be inspected for reflective tapes and other safety measures. Additionally, enforcement officers will monitor toll plazas 24/7 during the main bathing day and the preceding day to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
