Tenders floated to prepare Chennai’s Outer Ring Road

The initiative to develop Chennai Outer Ring Road with sports grounds, convention halls, urban squares, waterfront developments, and parks appears to be gaining traction, as the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) has issued tenders for consultancy services to prepare a detailed development plan for the corridor. Residents along the corridor are pleased with the development on government land, but they want the CMDA to protect water bodies and greenery and improve connectivity to internal areas. In addition to sports grounds, convention halls, urban squares, pedestrian footpaths, waterfront developments, accessible parks, theme-based parks, and horticulture parks, the CMDA plans to improve junctions along the corridor.
