Mumbai-Agra Highway traffic diversion in Nashik
Motorists traveling from Indiranagar to Mumbai Naka are advised to use the service road on the Govindnagar side. Those heading from Mumbai Naka to Govindnagar should take the service road on the Indiranagar side and proceed via the Indiranagar jogging track underpass.
NHAI has been laying a concrete layer along the 60-km stretch of the Mumbai-Agra Highway from Pimpalgaon to Gonde, including sections that pass through Nashik city. This work has been executed simultaneously on various stretches for the past three months. Officials noted that the concrete surface aims to mitigate the recurring issue of potholes that typically occur during the rainy season.
The laying of the concrete layer is nearing completion across multiple stretches, allowing motorists to start using the newly surfaced roads. NHAI officials expect that once the entire 60-km stretch is fully upgraded, traffic flow will improve, significantly reducing travel times. However, NHAI has opted not to apply the concrete layer on elevated structures, such as flyovers and underpasses, due to concerns about the added weight.
