Minister unveils road network for New Delhi railway station revamp
During The Indian Express Idea Exchange event, Vaishnaw elaborated on the project's intricacies, stating that the road network surrounding the station is pivotal for long-term decongestion. He discussed the challenges faced, citing the complexity of elements like a flyover crossing the tracks, which, due to its initial design, required a six-month halt in work and transportation. However, the project has since been re-evaluated, and the design has been revised to ensure seamless construction.
Addressing the unique challenges posed by New Delhi's congested environment, the minister emphasised the need for the station to decongest not only railway operations but also overall railway transportation within the city.
