JDA approves Rs 52 crore for repair of 6 city roads

Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has earmarked Rs 52 crore for repair and beautification of six roads in the city and construction of new traffic signals at some crossings before Diwali.

The funds for these projects were approved at a recent meeting of JDA’s project works committee, said a senior official. “These projects to be undertaken before the festive season starts include renovation of Gopalpura Road at Sanganer at a cost of Rs 3.69 crore, a few roads in Jagatpura locality at a cost of Rs 7.77 crore, the sector road from Balaji Tiraha to Jagatpura ROB at a cost of Rs 4.45 crore, and renovation of the main road leading to Vatika village at a cost of Rs 8.64 crore,” said the JDA official.

Approval has also been granted for renovation of the road between Jhotwara ROB and Ajmer-Delhi Bypass (200-feet Bypass), he said. “Rs 4.71 crore would be spent to beautify the medians on the stretch of road between Transport Nagar to Galta Gate and from Sadwa Mod to Peeli ki Talai in Amer. Rs 4.43 crore will be utilised for the maintenance of traffic signals and the ACTS system,” he added.

JDA plans to complete these projects by Diwali. During this time, JDA engineers will also carry out routine maintenance of other city roads along with the medians, said officials.
