Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation starts repairing roads

The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) finally started road repair works in the city after numerous complaints and criticism from the locals.

For about two months, the majority of roads—including arterial thoroughfares—have been in poor condition. Despite numerous complaints from residents to the corporation, nothing was done. The Commissionerate of Municipal Administration (CMA) granted CCMC Rs 260 million under the Tamil Nadu Urban Road Infrastructure Project (TURIP) a month ago in response to an earlier request for road maintenance and paving. Despite having the money, the civic organisation put off the project while workers awaited the minister's appointment for the inauguration.

38.09 km of brand-new roads will be constructed in the corporation's north, east, and central zones.
