Approval Given for Elevated Approach and Exit Road Construction

The redevelopment of Bhubaneswar Railway Station has taken a significant step forward with the state government's approval for the construction of an elevated driveway and exit road on the Master Canteen Square side. This clearance facilitates the smooth execution of the station's modernization plan, aligning with the land allocated by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).

The project is being developed in coordination with East Coast Railway (ECoR) and BDA to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure and commercial development. As part of the larger redevelopment initiative, parking facilities and commercial spaces within the station premises will be designed in consultation with BDA. Additionally, BDA plans to develop commercial areas on its allocated land, contributing to the creation of a modern and dynamic station complex.

Indian Railways has allocated Rs 4.19 billion for the project, which aims to upgrade the station with state-of-the-art amenities. The redevelopment will include dual-side entry, an air-concourse connecting all platforms, designated entry and exit points, lifts, escalators, a baggage security check-in area, an information centre, a food plaza, and waiting rooms.

This initiative is part of Indian Railways’ Amrit Station Scheme, which focuses on transforming railway stations into world-class facilities, enhancing passenger experience, and ensuring seamless travel. With these developments, Bhubaneswar Railway Station is set to become a modern transportation hub, catering to the growing needs of commuters and improving urban mobility in the region.
