Andhra Pradesh plans coastal highway and logistics hub in Tarluwada
A detailed project report (DPR) is underway. The state has pledged significant support, committing Rs 12 billion for land acquisition, with the balance expected to come from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and NHAI. Additionally, the state will allocate 157 acres in Tarluwada for a multi-modal logistics park (MMLP), aimed at boosting goods movement and strengthening ties between Bhogapuram airport, Vizag port, and industrial hubs.
To facilitate the project, Andhra Pradesh will provide GST exemptions on key materials and waive fees for relocating APTransco utilities. The highway’s Rs 62.89 billion total cost includes Rs 19.74 billion for construction and Rs 43.15 billion for land. The proposed corridor will also foster connectivity with tourism sites, industrial zones, and social infrastructure. (ET)
