The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced plans to install air quality sensors along all major roads in the city at a cost of Rs 25 crore. These sensors, to be placed near intersections, will monitor air pollution levels in real-time. If pollution levels rise, the control room at Paldi will deploy mist machines to spray water and mitigate the pollution.
The move is part of Ahmedabad's larger efforts to combat air pollution and improve public health. Other urban initiatives include the finalization of the Lotus Garden design and the completion of a new water pumping station to improve water supply in Ranip and Chandlodia.
