Mumbai airport records 33% growth in passenger traffic
Notably, the airport's growth in traffic, when measured against the pre-pandemic period (Q3CY2019), reached an astonishing 109%, reflecting a strong rebound in passenger numbers.
During the review period, CSMIA witnessed a total of 60,861 domestic air traffic movements (ATMs) and 20,438 international ATMs. Among the months in the July-September quarter, August emerged as the busiest with 43,29,749 passengers, benefiting from two long weekends.
In terms of destinations, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai ranked as the top domestic choices for CSMIA travelers. Meanwhile, Dubai, London, and Abu Dhabi maintained their positions as the most preferred international destinations, according to the airport operator.
CSMIA's remarkable performance underscores the resilience and recovery of the aviation sector, reflecting a notable rebound in passenger travel and a positive trend in air traffic movements. These figures signal a positive outlook for the industry and reaffirm the appeal of Mumbai as a key travel hub.
