The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has suspended Akasa Air's Director of Operations and Director of Training for six months due to lapses in pilots' training.

According to the DGCA's orders dated December 27, the executives failed to ensure compliance with Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR), with their responses to earlier show-cause notices deemed "unsatisfactory."

The suspension follows a regulatory audit conducted on October 7, which revealed that Required Navigation Performance (RNP) training was conducted on unqualified simulators, violating CAR provisions. The DGCA has advised Akasa Air to appoint suitable replacements for the two positions.

In response, Akasa Air stated that it has received the order and will comply, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.
