Steel Executives Federation Advocates Merger of Steel PSUs

The Steel Executives Federation has addressed the Prime Minister, advocating for the merger of steel Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). In their proposal, they suggest the amalgamation of NMDC, NMDC Steel, MOIL, in addition to FSNL and RINL, as a strategic move to enhance efficiency and synergy within the steel sector.

The Federation's appeal underscores the potential benefits of consolidation, aiming to streamline operations, reduce redundancies, and create a more robust and competitive steel industry in India. The proposal aligns with the ongoing efforts to optimize the performance of PSUs and enhance their contribution to the nation's economic growth.

The merger proposition reflects a strategic vision for the future of the steel sector, emphasizing the need for a unified and integrated approach to ensure sustainability and competitiveness. As the steel industry plays a crucial role in India's economic development, the Federation's recommendation seeks to align the operations of key players, fostering a more resilient and agile steel ecosystem.
