Wipro Hydraulics Opens New Manufacturing Facility in Jaipur

Wipro Hydraulics, a division of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, inaugurated its sixth manufacturing facility in Jaipur. Built with an investment of approximately Rs 250 crore, the new plant aims to enhance the company's production capabilities and meet growing domestic and international demand.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Wipro Enterprises chairman Azim Premji, and Pratik Kumar, CEO of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and MD of Wipro Enterprises.

"The company has invested approximately Rs 250 crore to set up this facility, which is projected to generate about 400 jobs," Kumar said during the event. "We currently have a manufacturing capacity of 1,000 hydraulic cylinders per day and are fully capable of doubling it if and when the demand rises."

This new facility is Wipro's sixth in India, following two units each in Chennai and Hindupur, and one in Bengaluru. The plant will cater to a wide range of industries, including construction, earthmoving, material handling, and agriculture, among others.

Emphasizing the use of local resources, Kumar added, "All the machinery used here is made in India, and we do 100 per cent of our assembly, manufacturing, testing, and packaging in-house. Trained workforce, along with automation, will lead to better quality products, higher productivity, and better cost efficiency."

The Jaipur plant, which began operations in May 2024, currently employs 166 staff members. It aims to position itself among the top three hydraulics manufacturers globally, bolstered by recent acquisitions of companies like Mailhot, JARP, and Columbus.

Sitaram Ganeshan, President of Wipro Hydraulics, highlighted the growth potential in the sector, stating, "We are bullish on the construction equipment demand, which has been growing at a rate of more than 20 per cent for the last two years. We project that by 2030, India will become the second largest construction equipment manufacturing industry."

With this strategic expansion, Wipro Hydraulics reinforces its commitment to innovation, quality, and supporting India's growing infrastructure needs.
