UP CM Reviews Varanasi's Upcoming International Cricket Stadium

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected the under-construction international cricket stadium at Ganjari Rajatalab on Wednesday, reviewing the progress and emphasizing the need to maintain quality while ensuring timely completion. He directed officials to expedite the work on priority to meet the project deadlines.

During the visit, officials provided an update on various aspects of the construction, including drainage systems, road connectivity, and overall infrastructure planning. The Chief Minister also interacted with engineers, labourers, and workers involved in the project, acknowledging their efforts and encouraging them to maintain efficiency.

The stadium, spanning 30.66 acres, is being developed with an investment of Rs 4.51 billion and will accommodate 30,000 spectators. Once operational, it is expected to become a major training centre for young cricketers from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

In addition to hosting national and international cricket matches, the venue will feature facilities for multiple sports, including badminton, table tennis, and swimming, enhancing its role as a multi-sport complex.

The foundation stone for the stadium was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 23. The project aims to strengthen sports infrastructure in the region and provide aspiring athletes with world-class training facilities.
