Schneider Electric celebrates 60 years in India

The French automation company, Schneider Electric, celebrated its 60 years of presence in India. They have plans to invest Rs 32 billion in India by 2026. Deepak Sharma, the Zone President and Greater India MD & CEO of Schneider Electric India, mentioned that the company entered the Indian market in 1963 and currently has 37,000 employees and 30 manufacturing sites in the country.

Sharma stated that India holds a significant position for Schneider Electric, being the company's third-largest market globally and one of the four global hubs for the group. He also expressed the company's ambition to make India its second-largest market after the US and China.

To enhance the company's growth in India, the CEO introduced the Schneider Electric Innovation Yatra, a platform designed to connect with the company's stakeholders. Rajat Abbi, Vice-President, Global Marketing, and Chief Marketing Officer of Schneider Electric India, described this initiative as a "carbon-neutral yatra" that would cover the entire country. Its purpose is to raise awareness about sustainable, digital, and NextGen automation solutions.

In a recent interaction with PTI, Sharma had revealed that Schneider Electric India plans to invest Rs 32 billion in nine states by 2026 to expand its presence in the country.
