Sarbananda Sonowal Lays Foundation for New Kendriya Vidyalaya

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone for the new Bhawan of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh, marking a significant step towards enhancing educational infrastructure in the region. The project, with an investment of Rs 380 million, aims to provide state-of-the-art facilities for students and educators. 

Speaking at the event, Sonowal emphasized the institution’s pivotal role in shaping young minds and aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat. He highlighted the importance of holistic learning and world-class infrastructure in fostering knowledge, creativity, and skill development. He also expressed gratitude to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for ensuring necessary funding for the initiative. 

The new building will support the goals of the National Education Policy by promoting inclusive and sustainable learning. Sonowal stressed the need to preserve green spaces within the school campus, creating an environment that nurtures curiosity and innovation. He reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening educational institutions as a catalyst for progress, emphasizing that quality education, modern infrastructure, and skill development are key to Dibrugarh’s growth. 

The event was attended by Assam Minister Prasanta Phukan, Dibrugarh Mayor Dr. Saikat Patra, Assam Tourism Development Corporation Vice Chairman Rituparna Baruah, Assam Petro Chemicals Limited Chairman Bikul Deka, the District Commissioner of Dibrugarh, and the principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh.
