SAMARTH UDYOG BHARAT 4.0 Driving Industry 4.0 Adoption in India

Under the Scheme for Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector, four Smart Advanced Manufacturing and Rapid Transformation Hub (SAMARTH) Centres have been established across India to drive Industry 4.0 adoption. These demand-driven initiatives aim to support MSMEs and industries in transitioning to smart manufacturing.
Key initiatives in Gujarat:
- CMTI, Bengaluru developed advanced smart machines for the laser and foundry sectors for four MSMEs in Gujarat.
- C4i4 Lab, Pune conducted Digital Maturity Assessments for two Gujarat-based MSMEs, offering tailored Industry 4.0 transformation plans.
- Kaushalya The Skill University, Ahmedabad now hosts an iFactory, established by C4i4 Lab under Phase-II of the scheme, serving as a training and demonstration hub for smart manufacturing.
- IITD-AIA Foundation for Smart Manufacturing, IIT Delhi organised two outreach programs in Ahmedabad and Anand, promoting Industry 4.0 adoption.
Collaborations with Karnataka-based startups:
- C4i4 Lab, Pune provided Digital Maturity Assessments and transformation roadmaps for three Karnataka-based companies.
- CMTI, Bengaluru transferred Industry 4.0 technologies, trained industry professionals, and collaborated with multiple MSMEs.
- CMTI developed over 15 smart manufacturing solutions under the Smart Manufacturing Demo & Development Cell initiative.
These efforts are significantly accelerating India's transition to smart, technology-driven manufacturing, fostering innovation, efficiency, and competitiveness in the capital goods sector.
